The Order to-day is headed by a Commandeur, who is elected for a period of one year renewable once, and it is run by a "Conseil Chapitral" made of Dignitaires, most of them belonging to the champagne business. Abroad, namely in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Japan and Singapore the Order is represented by Ambassadors or Consuls.
